As a quilt designer, the challenge is to create original patterns to answer a magazine’s call for content on a specific theme.‍ ‍A spectrum of colors, shapes, techniques and more sought by the magazine guide what my design evolves into!

Free Pattern: 4th of July Patriotic Table Runner featured in We Like Quilting, June 2025

Sew up a festive 4th of July table decoration or hostess gift! This patriotic table runner goes together quickly with diagonals of red, white and blue fabric alternating with white. Add swirls of flag colors mimicking fireworks for a burst of celebratory color!

Free Pattern: Ribbon Weaving Ring-Bearer Pillow, featured in and on the cover of We Like Sewing, June 2025

Make a festive ring bearer’s pillow with ribbon weaving featuring the wedding colors or a variety of pastels as shown here! Teenagers and children could assist in the weaving for this project, bringing generations together in preparing for the celebration!

Free Pattern: Fluttering Floral Fantasy, featured in and on the cover of We Like Quilting, April 2025

Welcome the spring season with butterflies fluttering around a ring of beautiful flowers! The flowers and butterflies are first attached using fusible webbing then stitched in place using raw-edge applique. Rhinestones can be added for extra sparkle! Free-motion quilting fills the background. This wall-hanging is sure to brighten up a home as winter fades and spring blossoms with beauty!

With the high cost of eating out, many couples are electing to stay home on Valentine’s Day. Stitch up a whimsical accessory - an apron in a Valentine fabric with heart-shaped pockets and intricate quilting on the bib! Make one for yourself and as gifts for family and friends!

Create placemats and a matching table runner with a main fabric theme of your choice, with three accent colors on each side (shown here: Southwest colors theme).

These easy decor items are not quilted and are finished by stitching the tops to the linings and turning them inside out. This saves time instead of applying binding.

They can be made in a wide variety of fabrics, from whimsical to formal, licensed characters to favorite color schemes!

Free Pattern: Autumn Table Runner

Create a festive table runner for autumn celebrations, dancing with machine appliqued leaves and filled with quilting motifs of your choice!

This is a great way to use autumn color scraps of fabrics in the leaves. You can experiment with a machine buttonhole and other stitches to applique the leaves in place.
